I’ve been using TeeShot and it’s pretty sweet.  Really gets the gadget envy going when my golfing buddies are using scorecards and those ridiculous tiny pencils, and I’m over here tracking my shots, yardage, and so on right from my phone.

Anyone else find any golf-related apps for the iPhone that they like?  There are a number of them and I’ve only had time to try one or two others, and I stopped after I found TeeShot.  The developer already has multi-user tracking in the works for the next version, but for now it can only track one golfer per round, which is kind of a bummer.

I don’t have an iPhone unfortunately since I’m with T-Mobile, but I’ll definitely be checking out this little app should I ever get an iPhone. I’d love to have that to keep stats on shots that I hit through the round.

Just an update that the latest version of TeeShot supports group scoring, Stableford, GPS flag locations, and a whole mess of other things.  And the interface is a joy to use on the course.

That app looks very nice! Makes me wish I had an iPhone or iPod Touch. Looks like it tracks everything imaginable in a round of golf. Maybe too much? I can see it coming in handy but at what expense? If I’m out there trying to put a good round together, I wonder how difficult that will by while trying to keep track of all these different stats at the same time?

BTW: Courses by city and alphabetical listing coming real soon. Got most of it set up, just need to launch it. Also working on the Google Map with markers to each course in my database. Problem with that is that I still can’t get it to show all the courses, but I’ve got someone working on it and will hopefully fix it.

I should have some good pictures from the Ryder Cup up in the gallery tomorrow. I’ll be attending tomorrows practice round and probably Saturday and Sunday, so be looking for those. ;)

I’ve found that it doesn’t take me any longer than to use a pencil and scorecard, and can even push everyone to perform better.  Who keeps track of FIR and GIR on their traditional scorecards?  Nobody I know.  But everyone wants to know it now that I keep scores on my iPhone.  The data entry is incredibly simple.  Number of strokes, number of putts, and whether or not your drive hit the fairway.  The stat tracking is all automatic and behind the scenes.

hehe… I actually do. I keep fairways, GIR’s and putts on our scorecard. The fact that it keeps all of the stats automatically is really appealing though.

Where do you find room for all of that on the scorecard? lol I’ve only done that if I’m by myself.

Well I have my score, then in the upper left hand corner of the square I make an “x” if I missed the fairway and an “o” if I hit the fairway. In the upper right hand corner I make an “x” if I miss the green and an “o” if I hit the green in regulation. And, in the lower left or right hand corner I record the number of putts on the hole.

It helps that I write fairly small.
