Cale Barr Takes the Lexington City Championship
Posted on July 15, 2008
July 10-13 was the annual Lexington Men’s City Championship. The Lexington City Championship is a four day tournament for golfers residing in Lexington city limits or those that hold a membership at a Lexington course.
This is a tournament that I’ve always wanted to participate in since moving to Lexington, but every year I’m either on vacation or cannot get off of work. If I played, I would only want to if I could play and compete with the best golfers at the tournament. Looking at the scores, there are quite a few very low rounds posted, but if I played my usual golf I would have finished somewhere in the top 20. I don’t get the opportunity to play in many tournaments though, so with the added pressure it’s very possible that I would choke and finish terrible! I guess there is always next year to find out.
From the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government Site:
The Men’s City Golf Championship is definitely one of Lexington’s favorite golf tournaments and includes golfers of all ages and handicaps. Played on four different golf courses over the course of four days, this 72-hole tournament is for men who reside in Fayette County or hold a membership at a Fayette County golf club. Divisions offered include handicap, scratch, senior and super senior.
Your 2008 winner was UK Men’s Golfer, Cale Barr.
